Privacy

Your choices stay on this iPhone.

This is the privacy policy for the Steady Phone iPhone app.

This policy describes the Steady Phone app for iPhone. The operator is Purity Goat LLC.

What stays on your iPhone

Steady Phone has no account and no sign-in. The apps you choose to keep are a Screen Time selection. iOS gives the app opaque tokens for that selection. Those tokens, the names on your list, the schedule, timers, and whether Steady Phone is on are stored in an App Group on the iPhone so the app, the Home Screen widget, and the Screen Time extensions can read them.

Steady Phone does not send that selection to a server. There is no Steady Phone server.

Today’s Screen Time can appear on Home. A Device Activity report extension draws it on the iPhone. It is not uploaded.

Screen Time

Steady Phone asks you, the owner of the iPhone, to allow Screen Time. The system shows its own alert, then Face ID, Touch ID, or the device passcode. The app uses that access to shield apps you did not keep open. It does not use child or family authorization, and it does not set a Screen Time passcode.

You can turn access off in Settings → Screen Time → Apps With Screen Time Access. Turning Steady Phone off inside the app clears the shields it set.

Purchases

Shields, the schedule, and the timer are unlocked by an auto-renewable subscription sold by Apple. Yearly is $24 after a 7-day free trial. Monthly is $4, with no trial. Steady Phone reads the result from StoreKit on the iPhone. It does not receive your card number, and it does not send receipts to a server of its own. Apple’s privacy policy covers the purchase.

Photos

Setup can add one plain wallpaper to Photos, and only if you allow it. The permission is add-only. Steady Phone does not read your photo library.

Notifications

If you allow notifications, Steady Phone can show a local notification when you earn a reward. That notification is created on the iPhone. It is not sent through a push server.

What we do not collect

There is no analytics, no advertising identifier, and no crash reporter. The privacy manifest sets tracking to false and declares no collected data types.

For the App Store privacy label, the answer is Data Not Collected. If a later version starts collecting anything, this page and the label change before that version is submitted.

Deleting the app

Deleting Steady Phone removes the files in its App Group. Turn Steady Phone off before you delete it, so it can clear the shields while it still has Screen Time access. After the app is gone, iOS decides what remains of a shield.
